For the dieseling, I would start with a good treatment with Seafoam.  I'd try
to get it into the intake after the AFM and throttle, and dense enough to
almost stall the engine.  That should get some of the carbon out and lessen the
problem.

I've done it dense enough to hydraulically lock the engine on a rabbit GTI, but
that is not for the faint of heart.. It really gets stuff cleaned out, though.

If one can helps, a second split half between the gas tank as an additive, and
the rest into the intake again might be a good idea.
