Bill is a good alternative to the " rip off Euro shops". AHHH the closest that fits that is German motors of Arcata and that was more like 20 yrs ago.. Helmuts(German Motors) Honest engine and Hubbards depends who you get to work on your Van/Car . I had work done at Honest engine last summer but pretty much use Hubbards , John the VW/Audi guy is honest and has/has a Vanagon .I've used them for maybe 6 years 4 or 5 different vehicles. But Jerry Hubbard has been bringing clean used German vehicles(BMW,Mercedes,Porsches) to Eureka so he has a big customer base and to get them to work on 50-70 VWs you need to be a established customer or have a good plea type story. As to Bill I think of him as a friend. To give you a example: He sold me a set of 36 HP Okrasa heads, carbs, manifolds, linkage ready to bolt on for $50. He does still charge the going rate around here $50 + Hr and his work is also dependent on who he has working for him. I've also had work done by him off and on in the last 10 years or so. So go see him but has he's turned me down on some 90's Audi quattro computer/electrical work a little deeper than he wanted to get into which I had John at Hubbards do. Bill's a good guy Lloyd in Eureka, Calif -----Original Message----- From: Steven Dodson - Epoch Product Design <steven@EPOCHDESIGN.COM> To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Date: Thursday, January 15, 2004 1:50 AM Subject: Eureka Inquiry - Bill's Volkswagen repair
