Hello list, I spoke too soon... a little fine tuning by ear 1 degree or so, and no more knock. So now its on to those vaccum lines. -Erin Randolph lexluthier72@yahoo.com

p.s.- To answer a listees question....The Bently manual, and the haynes both call for 5 degrees after top dead center. I could barely keep the van idling at 5 before top dead center. It also did not like to run at 0, as someone else suggested.
