Perhaps a little more if you had a full tank of fuel - 70L is *about* 70kg which for you US volks is about 150lbs. That with the engine / transmission slug a little lower I can see a slight advantage due to weight being on the back end.

I have a pair of dead 1.6L Diesel engines in the back of my single cab Syncro for this reason - I can sure tell the difference.

Idle speculation.

If you just ran a Syncro with a 2wd driveline et al, for whatever reason, would it handle more in snow like an older loaf van due to the location of the gas tank adding weight to the rear and removing it from the forward section??

Thought on this one folks?? Please no rants of why do that to a Syncro.
