A little more than I would have guessed, but seeing more porsche rolling vanagons is wetting my appetite. Would 7 1/2x17" inch front and 9X17" rears have clearence problems? i forgot how amazing this list is, its been a while since I've been on the list... feels good to have such vast group of like minded people a click away... thanks for the help. David,

You can get custom wheel adapters done in T-6061 for $149-$265 for a set of four from any number of ebay vendors.

I got mine done by Fred Goeske. Been to his shop in SoCal. Check out his rocket car if he let you. The work is first rate. I believe Eric Diddier used Fred's stuff for his Porsche wheel install as well. Wheeladapters.com.

You can also get steel ones from Wolfsburg International in Redding, California. A bit heavier but quite strong. I paid about $100 for the set of 4. It's a bit more now.

Lastly you can have your wheels redrilled and steel inserted like I have. It's a good way to keep the rears tucked under the rear fender. I have 8" wide ET23 wheel back there w/o clearance problems. No flares.

Check my page for alternative wheels when you get a chance. There is a page with the details on wheel redrilling in another page. Vanagon Cafe Alternative Wheels
