Look at what you wrote a little closer. First you say there is no electrical hook-ups and then you say that each injector is controlled electrically. Doesn't that mean there are electrical connectors? On an 2.0L Audi 80/90 with K-Motronic there is NO electrical connections at all to the fuel injectors - the amount of fuel flow in controlled by the fuel distributor which is mounted on the air box. The more pressure to the injectors the more fuel they squirt. On the Motronic setup like the TiiCo system the delivery rate of the injector is static over time. The only way to inject more fuel is to open the injector longer. I can see every reason why a fuel rail would make a difference in this example - they are completely different fuel systems and the ECUs do complete different jobs.

So again I have to disagree with you about using a different ECU. Here's a quick question for you. Don't worry as I already know the answer. How many electrical pins are there on the TiiCo ECU? The answer is 45 pins and that can be verified by going to the Yahoo Groups web site and going to the files section where someone has been so kind to map out the pins of the ECU. This ECU has the same pin out arrangement as the Canadian Golf CL - so if you don't trust the yahoo group, check the 1993-1998 Golf / Jetta Bentley manual. The Audi 80 ECU has 35 pins. You can't physically plug it into a TiiCo harness - it just doesn't fit.

The only thing that is *possibly* true from your statement is NOW Tiico is selling people who have to meet California CARB specs a *completely* different fuel injection system than their "original" kit. But, to date, I have not have heard from anyone that this is true. If someone could verify this it would be great. But I know of many people who have received the EO docs from TiiCo for their motor and they do not have the K-Motronic system found in the Audi 80/90 and as tested in the vehicle that TiiCo gave the CARB for the EO.

Sorry... but what you are saying is just physically impossible to do.

I don't see any reason why a fuel rail should make any difference.

The fuelrail used on my Tiico has no electrical hookups. That is >DIFFERENT< than the fuelrail used on my 5 cylinder. The fuelrail I'm using on my Tiico just does away with the individual fuels lines to each cylinder. Each injector is still controlled separately with its own set of wires to it.

On my 5 cylinder engine, the fuelrail gets the electrical signal and distributes it to the injectors.

Again, for CARB approval its entirely possible that Tiico is selling a different ECU.
