Yes, it's the "mydoom" virus. Comes in the form of an attachment that is not a *.exe but has an extension that is normally considered "safe" such as *.zip or *.txt. I suggest you update your anti-virus program and don't open attachments from anybody you don't know. http://www.cnn.com/2004/TECH/internet/01/26/mydoom.worm/index.html Larry P. -----Original Message----- From: David Marshall [mailto:vanagon@VOLKSWAGEN.ORG] Sent: Monday, January 26, 2004 9:01 PM To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Subject: [VANAGON] Anyone else getting this???
I really hate the "let's jump on the virus thing"... but I have been getting a lot of emails from andrew@gerry.vanagon.com containing the following: SUBJECT: Mail Delivery System BODY: Test ATTACHMENT: BODY.ZIP > This zip contains BODY.PIF which is going to be a trojan or virus of some sort. Anyone else getting these or is it just me? Thanks!
