Insurance companies are there to look after their interests and not your interests. You are guilty until proven innocent. I am going to court in March to prove my innocents on an injury obtained in an accident over two years ago. I have helped more than a few people with the 'worth' of a Double Cab for various insurance companies as they said they were worth only a few thousand dollars. Right! My two cents worth is total the thing and get another one. Once fixed, even if it looks as good as it did before the crash, it is still a salvage vehicle and that knocks 25% off the value of the vehicle. Nobody wants an accident vehicle. I have an '85, full camper Westy. Insurance co first valued it at $1700 then looked at all westys and went up to $5400. That was enough to fix the van but if it wasn't I was going to ask them to look at only full camper Westys. Stick shift, AC converted to R134a.
