Replaced both fuel filters and it ran perfect for 3 days now at highway speeds is surges and bucks. It will idle perfect while sitting still. Fuel pump has a high pitched whine. Were should I start? Check fuel filters or fuel pump or both, I don't want to do either since it's 5F outside. Thanks, Marcus > My money is on the filters. When I had to R&R my diesel tank a couple years ago, the filter clogged up a few days after it had been ingesting all the debris that was dislodged when I "cleaned" the tank. Also, clogged filters will cause pump noise.
