In the last month I was looking at renting a tow dolly and towing my beetle to NC............the stock hitch on my van was class 1, so I went to uhaul and also called another hitch dealer..............a class 2 is not made for the vanagon. So, I think that there is a difference between "can it tow it" and should it tow it.....................f it were flat land i would not hesitate.
