Title says it... I have a decent 83 Westie project I bought last fall (blown engine after less than 1500 miles from Hayman motors in TO. $3400 spent kindof put the PO off) Located a good TD motor I want to put into it...problem is, I've heard the TD motor doesn't fit without "modifying" the engine bay... If anyone has first hand knowledge of doing this, please let me know...will be looking for a NEW Vanagon oil pump for this setup as the bill in the glovebox said the one in it now was "weld modified"...any bets that's why the engine blew after that short a time... Also have a fresh 1.8 gas engine from my 85 Jetta I'm considering, but preference is the TD...just to be different...LOL. Den Neat Toronto Canada. |
