I am replacing my shocks with a set of OME's(Old Man Emu's) on my Syncro. I was looking at the stock fronts and noticed that one of the black plastic caps(this part is called the "bump stop/dust sleeve" in the bentley manual) that the shaft goes through was cracked. It seems these serve a purpose of protecting the shaft from dirt, but only sort of. First of all, if I am to replace these parts, where do I get them, (I called volks cafe and he said he doesn't have them), and will the stock caps fit on the OME shocks? Is going with an aftermarket boot (rubber/accordian style), an option? This seems like it would give much better protection. If so, any ideas on what aftermarket boot might be available for the OME's? Thanks in advance, Brian Butler |
