Performance improvement will probably not be noticable, but you may notice less noise.

Refitting the missing snorkel made a *huge* difference in interior noise on my diesel. (Diesels have a similar snorkel setup, but in the left rear pillar instead of the right one.) Now, a gas engine has a much less open intake tract than a diesel does, but it may still make a noticable difference.
