My 90GL was totaled two weeks ago. Mint condition. All records since day one. Here're a current letter from my attorney for your review.

Dear Ms. Insurance adjuster: I have passed your latest numbers on to my client. He was less than happy. It is his position that finding a substantially similar replacement vehicle will cost far in excess of your offer. Not knowing the answer, I did a little research on Auto Trader. There are no local vehicles which are even comparable. However, a no limits search pulled up a number of vehicles. I am attaching copies of the adds for the vehicles I found. As you will note, the prices range from $14,500 to $4,000. My client would be willing to accept an average of $7,970 as payment for his loss. Please advise at your earliest convenience.....

I don't expect to get the above amount but I'll get something better. A Vanagon is a nitch market auto. You can't compare it to a Ford, Plymouth etc.. when adjusting a claim. Like it or not. I explained the head rebuilding, A/C replacement, Auto rebuilding, brad new ties the day of the accident (Yokohama).... They have to pay fait market replacement, including transportation if there aren't many in your area...

Good luck... Jim
