Yep you are correct Andrew. Just got done reading "The Battle for the
Beetle". The boxer-4 was Porsche's pet design and he used it over and over
until he got it "just right" and applied it in the Beetle. Seems like I
remember reading that some of his early prototypes (not necessarily the
Beetle project) even tried radial engines... Good book!
