Thanks for the advice guys. On my 1982 Westy it turns out that the three perimiter bolts and the center bolt have to be removed. The center bolt had a big washer under the head that holds the fan in place. Once I got the fan shoud split and all the bolts off the fan came off with only a minor struggle. Jake 82 Westy
