I did my conversion for under a $1000.00 The entire purpose was to do it cheap. I made most of the swap out of my garage, and it took some real time, but the price was right. As for a suburu, I would not put a new subaru engine in a Subaru car. The reason is change. If these things are so great why do they keep changing them. A good design last for many years without ever having to be changed. Not many engine fall in this catagory. If you have a good long lasting design, parts are easy to find and cheap. Subarus are junk and I'm about to junk a good running E22 subaru engine right now. As the matter of fact, our local U-pull it won't even take this car, because the book can't track the amount of changes in these. So its off to the crusher, for this pile of S#$%T.
