Subject: Which clutch kit for 88 Westy?
Content-type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Last week I pulled my engine and tranny as a single unit. Took about 3 hours, so that was not as bad as I thought. I took care to label wires and connections so I don't get lost trying to put it back together (but I'm sure there will be probably be some headaches forthcoming). And I'm going to order my AVP rebuild today. My question for now regards the clutch assembly. I'm going to replace it, but I'm not sure whether to go with a Sachs or Luk. I've used Sachs kits in the past with no problems, but a friend of mine said he thought his clutch was a Luk. Has anyone had experience with both and care to comment on your experience with them? And what about size? Are there any options beyond the standard?

Thanks again,

Warren 88 Westy "Billy Bones" (in dry dock) 87 GL
