It's always a good idea to check the draw on both the "keepalive" lead and the "main power" lead with 12V connected to both and the power switched off on the radio. Some radios draw a lot more current in that configuration than you'd like. Radios made to run with the ignition turned off may draw less. I've had bad luck with some aftermarket radios in VWs draining the battery when hooked up the way I'm VW radios used to be. I had one draw over half an amp when "off". Dead battery city in just a few days if I hadn't noticed. I put a switch in line with the "main power" lead to take care of the issue. Best of both worlds.

This may not be an issue at all, but it's something to double check.
