More importantly, why does everyone have to include the whole mess in all their replies??? What is the point in propogating this throughout the archives. All it does is seriously increase the time it takes to search for useful information.

Those who seem oblivious to the piles of redunant text that flows back and forth here ought to try reading the digest mode just one time. :) Having to wade through 300 lines of text to read four, one sentence posts kind of takes its toll. Its not that hard to lose the irrelevant stuff. I get frustrated, but as more of a 'taker' than a 'giver' here, I figure that's a small price to pay, I have always just dealt with it, but having recently spent hours sifting through the archives in search of help, I have learned that the archives are probably 50% reposted, untrimmed, uneeded, useless text, which is a shame because its a treasure beyond worth to the community. As time goes on, the archives may one day become basically unusable. I think lately it is worse than it has ever been.

My low standing in the community won't allow me to step up and demand anything of such a great group of people, but I am not above pointing out the problems that it causes for a lot of folks, in the hope that folks will consider the consequences.

Can we still be friends?

John
