Hey. I am running an I4 conversion with an automatic in my 85 Westy, using the KEP adaptor plate and flex plate. I used the diesel parts. The engine is an 88 Audi 1.8 and runs on CIS. I am getting ready to upgrade to a 2.0 with Digifant to get a little more umph. If you are close to Georgia I recommend Steve and his shop, Autobahn Society. Thanks. > Has anyone installed a VW I-4 conversion in an auto. Can you use the Kennedy adaptor w/ the other diesel parts? After taking a good look at the donor westy we found (and getting permission from the wife) I'm tempted to convert it or install a rebuilt engine instead of chopping the top. > > I'd love to hear from anyone who's done a VW conversion w/ and automatic. > > john >
