Hello I am in the process of assembling a 2.1 out of a 1990 westy. Was wondering if anyone out there has had experience with cylinder and piston install with the engine removedand on a workbench? Read bently and they talk about a special tool install the small clips for the wristpins. Can a person use any type of homemade tool or do I have to hunt down a special VW tool for this ? I have been getting excellent tech support from Bob Donald so far. Also are there any other things to be careful of when doing this job? Thanks Jeff 1990 Westy
