In addition to the tools mentionedI always keep at least a '20 piece of parachute cord handy(also called 550 cord due to the fact that it will supposedly hold 550 pounds), in all of my vehicles. I once had the accelerator cable break a few miles from home on my Syncro and used it as a makeshift throttle cable. I just folded the bed down and popped off the engine cover, then I tied the 550 cord to the throttle, through the ring of the head rest and over my right shoulder where I tied it to my belt. Lean foward go faster, lean back, well you get the picture. The wife was impressed, just a few minutes earlier she was just annoyed with my facination with "old" vehicles. Joe in NH |
