This morning it warmed up to -20C and my truck would not start. When you crank over the motor, it barely moved. So, I took out a 1970s vintage Coleman catalytic heater. It is a small 3500 BTU heater that is shaped like a beehive on the top with a mesh to protect the heater part of it. To light it, you simply turn it up side down for about 5 seconds so the Coleman fuel soaks the mesh, then turn it the right side up, throw a match on it and woof! There is fire for about 45 seconds and then it dies down to make a nice red glow on the top of the beehive. I then put this heater right under the oil pan of the wasserboxer motor and let it sit there for about 1h. The truck fired right up!

Now this heater is coming with the truck everywhere I go!
