I have the same basic problem with the door not latching securely some of the time. I long ago figured out the hand on the back of the door trick and this works ok in the warmer weather. But come winter, the door won't stay shut, even when it appears to latch well. I'll be driving down the road and it'll pop open and so far my only solution has been to close it while it's a bit warmer and just don't use it in the really cold weather. Is this part of the badly adjusted rear latch thing or could this be something else? The cold weather element has me confused a bit.
