I got a set of OME's for my syncro, of course installing the rears were a breeze. I haven't started on the fronts yet. Do I need a coil spring compressor to install the fronts? Can I do it without? I've looked at the "How to install front shocks" article at a few of the vanagon websites, but I think that article applies to 2wd. It mentions that after you remove the nut at the top and the bolt at the bottom of the shock, the shock will fall out of the van through the spring. I don't see this happening with the big flange attached to the shock(or is the proper term "strut"?) that the spring sits on. Any help is appreciated. Thanks ya'll! Brian |
