Loud metallic bang followed by extreme cursing (by me). ---------- reply ---------- I'll bet there are a lot of garage door- not enough clearance stories out there. Here's mine. An out of town listees syncro westy was having a vibration problem. I offered to take a look at it and remove the driveshaft. I pulled their van into my garage and heard the same noises as Jeff describes above. I had set my garage door opening height to accommodate a syncro westfalia, thought that would be enough for any kind of vehicle I would drive in there. Well, this listees van had roof racks on top of the pop top. Fortunately the wooden garage door yielded and broke, the van suffered no damage.
