The front hooks go into the frame. The L bends on the other end of these rods are the hinge pins for the spare tire skid plate.

Hi All:

I finally got my van to the point where we are going to put serious miles on it. In preparation, I put the spare tire and holders back on the van. It has been off for two years.

Anyone know what or how the two bent rods that hold the spare tire down (to the plate) are supposed to be positioned at the front? What do they attach to or rest against? Currently I have the bent ends just hooked into two holes in the front frame crossmember, but this does not keep the spare from moving around.

TIA Regards, --Jeff Strickrott 82 Westy, South Florida
