Subject: Has anyone installed an ABA-based engine conversion?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

While the van was going to get a paint job this summer, the first signs of leaking gaskets have been diagnosed which means the engine conversion comes first. I've been expecting this, but in a way also looking forward to it.

So my question: has anyone used the ABA engine for a 50 degree (diesel mounts) conversion? If so, I'd love to talk to you by p-mail and maybe get a few pics. The only reference site I've found is Otmars stretch and it appears that he had some problems with clearance around the belts. I also want to ensure this thing will clear CA laws, so all emmissions/etc... are going on.

The heads still seem to have some life in them so I'm blessed with time to prepare (and for it to warm up). I'm hoping that I'll find the info I need to use this engine - if not it'll be the older style, I guess.

john
