Sounds like a problem I've been having on and off for many years with my
84GL. I gave up trying to fix it a long time ago...I think because I
determined it wasn't the in sensor or the in instrument module but in the
wiring in between. I learned to live with it. Sorry I'm no help but I
thought misery might like some company.
