Subject: Re: Anyone running a Oettinger powered Van( or completed van) ?

Grrrrrrrrrrrr..... TX is flat, did it east to west, west to east (at 45-50 pedal to the floor with 1.5 cylinder working), I was passed by a lot of crazy guy going 100+... and they piss me off, I was scared every time, I was so slow.

Quebec is flat too, not as flat as TX but still, here we drive like crazy, most people don't care about being stop. Am one of them on my bike (was!!!), often driving in the 160-180 range, passing car like they were going backwards...

With my screaming 4 in1 exhaust system, I must have scared many, not proud of that at all, but still.

Speeding is a drug, you get addicted very easily, without thinking or caring about how others feel about your stupidity. Well, I think it's call growing up.

Well, that was before...

About the original post....

I feel that the Vanagon 2.1 is missing 20-30 hp, no more, I was quite happy with my 2.1. last year, I had to deal with a very sick 1.7L in my 73 for more than 5000miles, so I have seen both side of the fence. I have accepted the fact that westy's have no power; it gives us time to appreciate and enjoy the scenery.

Am looking at some Eurovan lately, I wonder about the Audi 5cyl????

Cheers, Ben http://www.benplace.com/
