Mount it on the cylinder head next to the fire wall.  That is where VW
mounted it on the Scirocco and Cabriolet.

The dual sender will duplicated the sender that is on the oil filter you
have now.  Newer VWs have 0.3BAR and 1.8BAR senders.  If it is possible, I
would return this sender and get one that just does the pressure, or buy
another gauge and do temp (removing the original sender on the filter
housing).

Hi:
I have an 82 Diesel Vanagon and want to mount a VDO "Duel Sender" oil
pressure sender. The question is: Where is the best place to mount it"? I
have the oil light hooked up on top on the oil filter flange and I have a
place on the side of the head. Do I leave the "light" sender where it is and
use one side of the duel sender and put it on the head? Or do I mount it on
the oil filter flange and hook both wires up? I have tried to reach VDO with
no luck........Rex
