I, for one, am glad the thing is where it is. I have old bones, and getting underneath anything to work on it becomes more problematic I had to change out both the clutch master cylinder, then later the brake master cylinder. I am glad there were where they were. Trying to lay on my back on a dolly underneath and work with my arms overhead or elevated in any way is very difficult for me - aggravates the stew out of the bursitis.

As for removing brake fluid from the carpet, I first used soapy water, then flooded the floor with water to wash out the soap. I then rinsed out with rubbing alcohol. The alcohol is hygroscopic for water and helped get the water out of the vehicle and evaproate faster. I parked on the side of a hill with the driver side on the downhill slope so excess water and alcohol would run out the door. I set fans to help dry faster.

Regards,

Johjn Rodgers 88 GL driver
