Don't know of any VW mechanics in Knox, TN, but the CV joints/brakes/bearings on a VW are certainly "standard" enough that most any general-purpose auto mechanic shop should be able to diagnose and fix these sort of things.

CV joint noise is frequently minimal/non-existent when the vehicle is driving straight but will express itself when making a tight turn in the direction of the bad joint. You might try driving in a quiet parking lot, turning tight one way and then the other to see if that isolates the problem. --------------------------------------------------------------- Tom Young '81 Vanagon Lafayette, CA 94549 '82 Westfalia --------------------------------------------------------------- ----- Original Message ----- From: "Charles E Clement/FWF/EXP/UTIA" <ceclement@MAIL.AG.UTK.EDU> To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Thursday, February 05, 2004 1:08 PM Subject: Mechanic in Knox, TN?
