Subject: Information on Klimaus or Kilma Headliner Air Conditioners.
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Greetings all

Recently I came across some photoes I had saved on my hard drive showing a Vanagon fitted with a Klimaus or Kilma Air Conditioner. I cannot provide any other details and am not sure if the name I save them under is in fact correct.

The Unit is a two part system with one head fitted across the roof just near the windscreen and a second unit fitted just behind the front drivers and passengers seats. This second unit faces into the passenger area. Both units look like they were specially built for the Vanagon BUT do not resemble the factory air unit. They are white in colour and connected by ducting but unlike the notorious VW ducting it appears to be about 1 meter in length and firmly affixed to the two units.

Both units follow the contors of the Vanagon roof and looks like a perfect and neat fit. The photos indicate the vehicle is American or Eurpoean as the Driver sits on the left hand side.

Coming from Australia I have never seen nor heard of these units. I was wondering if anyone can provide details about these units as I would consider obtaining one and fitting it to my NON air con. Van.

Regards Ray Hunnam
