Subject: speedo 85 vanagon....DPO and the use of various adhesives?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Hello all, First, thx to all who responded. My speedo now works...135,046...took it for a one mile drive. The previous owner had been in there once before, and upon doing so, broke the speedo cable end...and gratuitously spread epoxy all over it and jammed it back on...I was able to get most of it off, and find that the connector had busted off, and thats what he tried to fix to no avail. Having no other choice, I put a drop or two of super glue on it to hold till it breaks and I get a new cable. Turns out the white gear had worked its way out on one end...a few light taps with a jewlers hammer and all is well....seems like everything ive fixed is some re-fix of a previous problem this guy either fixed or let go so far, there was no other choice but replacement....oye...I feel better now....thx for letting me rant. -Erin R.
