If it'a a 1988-1991, The "Geo Storm" of those years is a
bagdge-engineered Toyota Sprinter. Which is part of the Corolla
range. Nothing tinny about these. But the bumpers are purely
cosmetic, as they are in most modern cars.

My Nissan Skyline R32 had plastic bumpers which did NOT come off in
an accident, as I found when I centerpunched some moron in a Mazda
Familia (323) 4WD. One solid plastic bumper with a piece of railway
iron behind it!
