My new '87 Wolfsburg Westy has a main battery compartment (the one under the front passenger seat), that is not externally-vented. It looks just like the auxiliary battery compartment; just a hinged, black metal lid. My '87 Syncro Westfalia has the externally-vented/sealed-off from the cab main battery compartment; I thought this was standard on all Vanagons with inside mounted batteries. What's the deal with this? Why would they take steps to vent the off-gasing to the outside in one model, and not worry about it with another; in the same year, no less. Should I do something about this? Thanks, Brett Baer _________________________________________________________________ Check out the great features of the new MSN 9 Dial-up, with the MSN Dial-up Accelerator. http://click.atdmt.com/AVE/go/onm00200361ave/direct/01/ |
