You need to run these with spacers. If they are 16x6 you need an offset of
30mm and if they are 16x6.5 you need somewhere close to 23mm
The spacers you need to run are expensive as you would need at least 30mm
thick which means a spacer with studs.
If you are serious about running 16" steel wheels, in mid March I have a
DoKa coming to Canada with a pile of 15x6.0 ET30 and 16x6.0 ET30 steel
wheels - I think it would make more sense to get the correct thing from the
start.

Subject: Steal Wheels?
I jumped on an opportunity to acquire a set of brand-new, never been
mounted 16" "vanagon wheels" for a good price. They turned out to be
Eurovan wheels, but they seemed close enough to Vanagon wheels that I
bought 'em.
However, the offset is 53 mm (ET 53) compared to the Vanagon's 30mm.
Anyone have experience with this situation?
Or maybe I should be asking if it is worth it to use spacers, where to
get them and the longer bolts needed for a Sycncro?
Wheely big thanks,
ron antaki

The benefots are different when you go up a size or two. Frinztanz... go
to 15" alloys and you may be negating the weight savings. But then you
will find more tires with the proper load rating for far less money.
