Volks,Sorry ..... Long story! Yesterday I sent a short report to a few friends about a run in I had with a few Louisiana Raccoons. See "First Raccoon Report" at the bottom of this page. Turns out there's more to the story. - - - Clip - - - I think you hit on the solution. Cats, Rats, Squirrel all like the sweet flavor of antifreeze. The thing to do is to set out a Frisbee with antifreeze and some peanuts or peanut butter about 100 feet from your campsite. The varmints will go to the peanuts and poison themselves with the antifreeze. They'll be there partying their asses off while you catch those ZZZs in your camper. It is also helpful to set a Coleman Lantern up some distance away from your camper so it will draw off the Mesquites and other flying varmints during the evening / night hours. The best recipe I've found for Nutria is simply to marinate the hind legs in Jack Daniels. Then you throw the hind legs away and drink the Jack Daniels. Stan Wilder |
