I'm real happy with my A&E Transawn 2000. I can set it up and tear it down unassisted. It has survived +30 mph winds and torrential rains; now if I see that type of weather coming, I only extend it 1/2 way. I only use mine in patio configuration, I chose not to mount the foot brackets to the body of the van. The 2500 model should still be available, it has a center rafter and a top-hinge storage compartment which does a better job of keeping water out of the housing when it is closed. I added weatherstripping to mine so now it stays pretty dry.


Also look into getting a ground cloth to go under the awning. http://www.siennabreeze.com/Canada/groundmat.html Mine is similar to this, I fold mine and keep it under the rear matress.
