Subject: Vanagon Automatic Kick-Down problem
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Hello All:

I saw a posting by Mike (md03@XOCHI.COM) last week...but unfortunately deleted the responses before I could read them. I too have been having an Auto Trans "Kick-Down" issue:

I had a new engine put in this summer and ever since getting it back from the mechanic it doesn't seem to kick down when going uphill...only if I really stomp the pedal to the floor..and even then it doesn't seem to produce the needed "oomph" uphill.

I originally took it back to the mechanic, who worked on my accelerator linkage thinking that was the problem...his adjustment helped a little...but it still isn't right.

Any suggestions from the list?

Cheers! Kevin
