I jumped on an opportunity to acquire a set of brand-new, never been mounted 16" "vanagon wheels" for a good price. They turned out to be Eurovan wheels, but they seemed close enough to Vanagon wheels that I bought 'em.

However, the offset is 53 mm (ET 53) compared to the Vanagon's 30mm. Anyone have experience with this situation? Or maybe I should be asking if it is worth it to use spacers, where to get them and the longer bolts needed for a Sycncro?

Wheely big thanks,

ron antaki

The benefots are different when you go up a size or two. Frinztanz... go to 15" alloys and you may be negating the weight savings. But then you will find more tires with the proper load rating for far less money.
