hi all my 85 westi is in the shed for the winter but has an issue that i need to take care of before the spring/ summer when i will want to go campin. here is the poop. 85 westi stock 1.9L wbx motor new ox sensor small exhaust leak at junction leaks small amout of antifreeze and oil when it wants (never consistant) may leak or puddle every 6-8 days of driving but not enough to constitute adding more fluids starts like text book, average power for what it has(basically runs great) drive for approx. 50 miles flawless, then you can feel that it just wants to slow down pressing on the throttle has no real effect. you slowly start loosing speed. then you pull off the road/ freeway and stop. still runs perfect at idle. so get back in and it still no power so pull over again. shut the motor off. for a few seconds. restart and boom power is back hop on the freeway and approx 50 miles repeat as needed. does not run hot. runs abit cold. need to bleed front radiator. if any of these things are a cause let me know. as soon as i finish installing the 1835cc dual kadron motor in my 71 bus i will put the 85 westi on the lift to fix its exhaust leak and bleed the radiator. thanks for any info in advance. i recently replaced many of the vacuum lines and routed them to there correct points. its been slow coming on not with a change of weather or maintenace. i did have a 82 honda civic that acted the same untill i found a broken vacuum line. so i may need to just go over all lines once again to make sure one didnt slip off or not seal. c-ya Jonce Jonce Fancher 56 Single Cab 62 Fiberglass Buggy 66 Sunroof Bug 1835 w/Webers 66 Squareback Variant 71 Deluxe Sunroof Bus 75 911 S sunroof 85 Vanagon GL Westi 85 Vanagon GL 7 passenger parts van 96 F-350 Crew cab dually (work truck) 99 Honda Accord ( understanding wifes car )
