Subject: Noises from rear end revisited
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Hello all, Well, The Weather warmed up here (a whopping 30 degrees), and lo and behold Most of my cv noises went away (have not had a chance to repack them) I had to make a short run to the grocery store, and noticed another noise coming from the rear end...(sigh) A slight dull thud Seems to only happen when i go over bumps. (and is random) I rechecked the bolts on the cv's and could not loose them by hand. I jacked up each tire and shook them at 12 and 3 o'clock to no really alarming noises. Did a visual on the rear trailing arm, and nothing seemed out of place. I do know that i need to replace the drivers side upper Control arm bushings and the upper ball joint, but The noise is definitly coming from the rear...Or is it? As the weather warms, I plan to repack the cv's, replace the upper control arm bushings, and the upper ball joint...Plus in about a week am going to do the standard head gasket job. Any thoughts on other places to look for the offending noise would be helpful...Pmail me with any ideas. -Erin R.
