That price was in the good old days. And it was for a Shakey- Jake -- a Jacobs engine, of which there were many, many at one time, but no more. The Pratt and Whitney became the standard, with 9 cylinders and 450 hp, and the P&W had a price on them even then. And they are still around. Of course they had an internal centrifugal blower and the Shaky Jake did not. If that blower let go in a P&W then it was Heaven Help Us!!
