Yeah, should be no problem. The only slight trick may be the oil pressure warning circuit (your 86 has a more sophisticated one than came with the '85 - mounts for sensors and whatnot). Other than that, just swap all the digifant FI stuff onto that motor, plumb the coolant lines (cooling system is significantly simpler in the 1.9 - but you can keep the existing 2.1 system, depending on which water pump you use), and i think that is close to it. Probably a couple things i am forgetting, but it really isn't a problem to swap. There is a 2.1 engine into a 1.9 van (what i've done) write-up out there somewhere that is quite thorough but i can't recall where it is right now. Power will be a little bit less, but still scoot you around just fine (especially if you use the 2.1 airbox, throttle body, etc.). Good luck, -Damon --- jacob simpson <jeggers926@YAHOO.COM> wrote: > can you do this....motor is shot in my 86...i might > have found a 1.9 > how much of a difference will it make with speed etc > > i think the motor is from an 85, if it makes a > difference > > thanks folks ===== '84 Westy (Sparky) w/2.3L WBX (wow... it actually works!) __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
