But you'd see a lot more of the scenery. ;)

Actually, I just figured it out. If you drove 8 hours a day at 55 mph it would take you 6.6 days to go from New York to San Francisco. If you drove 8 hours a day at 75 mph, it would take 4.8 days. If Stan's figures are correct you'd save 38.8 gallons of fuel, which works out to $65.61 at today's price. This does not factor in the added stress of high-speed driving and its effects on your health and enjoyment. ;)
