That would be quite true.

I found that 365km trips between Dunedin & Christchurch were far less fatiguing when done in the wee hours (only a few trucks on throad at that time of day) at @160 in my 74 Passat and diesel Skyline. Both cars were quite happy to sit on that speed, though that was also the Nissan's top speed.

Unfortunately there are more cops now, and more peolpe have discovered the ease of driving at that time, so now you can't even use high beam... -- Regards Andrew
