It depends on the similarity/dis-similarity of the metals and galvanic corrosion. Similar metals will take longer to corrode than those farther apart on the atomic chart. Stainless steel has been treated for hardness (and there are still variations/gradations of stainless steel) and will take longer to corrode than regular steel bolts. The problem lies in the metal used into which the bolts are fastened and the environment in which the bolts stay. Everything will corrode, it's just a matter of time.
